Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission Meeting

The Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, October 8th at 5:00PM at Kennett Township in the Public Meeting Room. Click Here to access the agenda.

Kennett Township Planning Commission Meeting

The Kennett Township Planning Commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Tuesday, October 8th at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room. Click Here to access the agenda and Zoom link. One topic of discussion will be the preliminary/final land development plan for Enclave at Sills Mill.

Kennett Township Trails & Sidewalks Committee Meeting

The Kennett Township Trails & Sidewalks Committee meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday, October 9th has been CANCELLED. The next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 6th at 1:00PM.

Kennett Township Historical Commission Meeting

The Kennett Township Historical Commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Thursday, October 10th at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room. Click Here to access the agenda and Zoom link.

A Special Announcement from the Historical Commission:

If your home was built in previous centuries, or even in the last few years, The Kennett Township Historical Commission is planning a workshop in early February, 2025, that will assist homeowners in researching your home’s history (even if your home is relatively new, it might be interesting to find the owner of your land in the 18^th century). Jeff Marshall and HISTORY ATTIC RESEARCH will help by giving you research tips. Please email Fredda Pennock at Pennockfredda@yahoo.com, if you would be interested in attending. The date will be announced in the future.

Public Works Updates

Work is progressing ahead of schedule on the pipe replacement on Davenport Road. Work is expected to be completed by Thursday, October 10th, but we will update the community via social media if the work will be completed prior to October 10th.

Please remember that due to construction vehicles and equipment, as well as the need to trench across the road, the upper leg of Davenport Road, between Cedarcroft Road and Donny Road will be closed. Access to driveways within the road closure are permitted. Pedestrians and bicyclists should also avoid the area during working hours due to the heavy equipment and material moving around. Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY. Proof of residency may be required. The Recycling Drop Off Center on Bayard Road takes plastic containers No's 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7. All recycling is now commingled or "Single Stream," which means that all recycling, with the exception of shredded paper, can be collected in a single collection box. Aluminum, Metal Food Containers, Glass, Plastic Bottles, and Paper Products can be recycled at the Kennett Township Recycling Center.

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.
