Proposed Marijuana Ordinance
During the October 4th, 2017 Board of Supervisors meeting, a proposed Ordinance to provide regulations for the growing/processing and dispensary of medical marijuana will be on the agenda.
This Ordinance was drafted after the Pennsylvania General Assembly enacted the Medical Marijuana Act, Act No. 16 of 2016, which provides for access to medical marijuana for patients suffering from certain medical conditions. The Township believes it to be in the best interest of the Township and its residents to regulate the location and nature of licensed organizations growing, acquiring, possessing, manufacturing, selling, delivering, transporting, and/or distributing/dispensing medical marijuana within the Township. This Ordinance is proactive in nature, the Township does not currently have any applications for these uses for the Township.
This Ordinance would allow the growing/processing in the following zoning districts:
LI-Limited Industrial (permitted by right)
SA-Specialized Agriculture (permitted by special exception)
and would allow dispensaries in the following zoning districts:
C-Commercial (permitted by right)
