Interior Renovations

Many interior renovations require a building permit, even if you are not adding square footage.

Projects involving electrical work, plumbing, structural changes, or finishing basements typically require permits to ensure work meets safety standards. Proper permits also help protect homeowners during resale or insurance claims.

If you’re planning an interior update, a quick call to the Township can confirm what permits are required. Have questions? Please call at 610-388-1300 or email at kmorgenstern@kennett.pa.us Katelynn Morgenstern, PP, AICP, Director of Planning & Zoning.
