Below is the Department Head Report presented by the Director of Public Works at the January 21st Board of Supervisors meeting. It highlights the work done by Public Works in the month of December.

Public Works Department Department Head Report
Presented on January 21, 2026

Director of Public Works, Ted Otteni reported that for December 2025 the Department focused on infrastructure safety, facility improvements, and environmental protection across the township. The full report can be viewed on the website. Some highlights:

  • Bridge Safety: After a vehicle strike on the W. Hillendale Road bridge, staff worked with the Chester County Bridge Unit to confirm the bridge remains safe for public use.

  • Facility Improvements: Eight new insulated garage doors were installed at the Public Works facility, improving energy efficiency and reducing worker injury risks during winter operations.

  • Winter Maintenance Work: Crews used time between snow events to complete inlet cleaning, remove hazardous dead trees, and assist with sewer billing account clean-ups.

  • Stormwater Protection: Routine inspections continued at residential and construction sites, including early detection and containment of a potentially harmful material before it reached a nearby stream.
