KENNETT TOWNSHIP OF BOARD OF SUPERVISORS

The Board of Supervisors will hold a hybrid meeting on TONIGHT, Monday, January 5th at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. Items on the agenda include: Board of Supervisors positions, Board of Supervisors Representative Appointments, Appointment of Staff and Consultants, Committee Appointments and proposed Resolutions.  The complete agenda and Zoom link can be accessed on our website.


TRAILS & SIDEWALKS COMMITTEE

The Trails & Sidewalks Committee will hold a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, January 7th at 1:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. Items on the agenda include: discussion of status of current projects, Sinclair to Union street, Second Bridge at Barkingfield Park and New Maps. Recycling Reminder

LOCATION: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage at 557 Bayard Road.

HOURS: The Recycling Center is open DAWN to DUSK, Monday through Saturday and 10:00 am to Dusk on Sundays.

CHRISTMAS TREE DROP OFF

Kennett Township Residents, did you know that the Yard Waste Debris Center accepts Christmas Trees? 

 Kennett Township Residents can drop off their trees at the Yard Waste Debris Center located at 557 Bayard Road. Ordinance 307 states that this service is not available to non-residents.  If you have any questions please contact (610) 388-1300 or questions@kennett.us.pa 


Yard Waste Reminder

Please be sure to review our updated rules to ensure compliance and avoid any violations. Located at 557 Bayard Rd.  The Yard Waste Debris Center is open Monday -Saturday, dawn to dusk and on Sundays from 10 am to dusk.  Additional information can be found HERE.

  • The Yard Waste Debris Center is for Kennett Township Residents only.
  • All contractors must be accompanied by the property owner.
  • No Bamboo
  • No large stumps.
  • No dirt, stones, brick or concrete.

INTRODUCING THE GATHERING PLACE AT KENNETT

Formerly Kennett Area Senior Center, The Gathering Place at Kennett is designed for adults 55+ who want to connect, have fun, and stay engaged. They offer programs to entertain, inspire, and delight! Check out their wide range of activities and see what sparks your interest.  Located in the heart of Kennett Square, they're open Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. Come visit them at: 427 S. Red Cross

RED CROSS BLOOD DRIVE

The American Red Cross will host a community blood drive at Kennett Library. Your donation can help save lives and support patients in need—every contribution makes a difference. Donors can also enter for a chance to win two tickets to Super Bowl LX in California. Happening THIS Saturday, January 10th from 9:30 to 2:30 pm. Registration is required. Please register in advance by visiting redcrossblood.org and entering sponsor code KLIB. Additional information can be found on their website.

BRANDYWINE MUSEUM OF ART

On view in Brandywine’s Strawbridge Family Gallery, Home for the Holidays: Cards and Hearths from the Collection celebrates the connections that define the season—from gathering together at home to sharing messages from afar. The exhibition features cherished dollhouses from the collection, including rooms from Ann Wyeth McCoy’s nine-foot dollhouse, a family collaboration filled with handmade furnishings and miniature artworks. Also on view is the Peters-Herdeg dollhouse, an intricately detailed Georgian-style manor and a recent addition to Brandywine’s collection. Makers, Meets 3D Kennett Library Event

INTRO TO 3D PRINTING AT KENNETT LIBRARY

Curious about 3D printing? Come out for a 45-minute introductory session that covers everything you need to get started, from finding digital models and learning basic 3D design to slicing files and using our 3D printers. You’ll also learn how the friendly makerspace staff can support your projects. More information about dates, times and registration can be found on the Kennett Library's website.


Mt. Cuba Logo with Winter Forest

WINTER TREE IDENTIFICATION WALK AT MT. CUBA CENTER

Take a rare winter walk through Mt. Cuba Center’s gardens and learn how to identify trees by their subtle seasonal characteristics. This in-person program will teach you to recognize species by observing bark, buds, bud scales, fruit and seed remnants, fallen leaves, and overall tree form. You’ll also be introduced to key botanical terminology to build confidence in winter identification techniques—and gain a deeper appreciation for trees in the winter landscape.  The event will take place on Saturday, January 17, 2026 at 1:00 PM (Rain Date: Saturday, January 24) in person at the Mt.Cuba Center.  Additional information can be found on their website.

Kennett Winterfest returns to downtown Kennett Square on Saturday, February 28th with an afternoon of exceptional craft beer, hearty food, live music, and warm winter camaraderie. This annual celebration not only brings seasonal cheer but also supports the community programs that help Kennett thrive year-round. Rooted: Origins of American Gardening
The 2026 PHS Philadelphia Flower Show celebrates the stories that ground us in gardening—from family traditions and cultural heritage to plants carried across generations and continents. Through immersive garden exhibits and stunning floral displays, Rooted explores the legacies that shape how we plant, grow, and gather today. As Philadelphia marks the nation’s 250th anniversary, the Show invites reflection on the gardening traditions we’ve inherited and the ones we’re cultivating for the future.
