KENNETT TOWNSHIP BOARD OF SUPERVISORS The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will hold a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, September 17th at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. Items on the agenda include: the first presentation on the 2026 Budget: Capital Projects & Priorities, the 2026 Minimum Municipal Obligation for Pension Plans and a revision to the township's contract with Civic Plus (Municode). 2025 “SPEAKING OF HISTORY” LECTURE SERIES A free series of talks on local history presented by the Kennett Heritage Center & the Kennett Township Historical Commission, made possible by a grant from Hadley. This Saturday, September 20 at 3pm in the Kennett Library Auditorium. Along the Red Clay - The Surprising History of Anson B. Nixon Park Speaker Clarke Green, local author and visual artist The presentation will take you on an armchair tour through the rich, surprising history of the park’s woods, waterways, and meadows. The land now managed by the Kennett Area Park Authority has been the site of events in both the War of the Revolution and the War of 1812, the Industrial Revolution, and home to some remarkable people. WATER/ROOTS Come out for the first lecture in Kennett Library’s 2025 WATER/ROOTS Environmental Lecture Series on Tuesday, September 16th at 7pm in the auditorium. Our guest speaker, Sarah Sato, Environmental Education Specialist with the Bureau of State Parks, will present on the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System and explore the significance of the Big Elk Creek Watershed. This engaging talk will highlight the importance of protecting our waterways and how these natural resources connect to environmental literacy and community well-being. Registration is required.
