2025 May Monthly Meetings

Kennett Township Historical Commission:

The Historical Commission will hold a hybrid meeting Thursday May 1st at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. Join us for an important discussion on key initiatives affecting our community. Topics to be discussed include: the Anniversary of Kennett School System Education Program, KHC Speaking of History Series among many more. The Zoom link can be accessed on the agenda.



FRIENDLY REMINDERS FROM OUR PUBLIC WORKS CREW:
Recycling

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk. 

New Rules for Yard Waste Drop-off area are in effect. Violators will be fined!!!

Now that spring is here, yard clean-up and home projects are in full swing! Be sure to review our updated rules to ensure compliance and avoid any violations.  Thank you for your cooperation and understanding!

Kennett Run

Kennett Run: Race Day is This Saturday!

Put on your running shoes and head to the starting line. Kennett Run Charites is offering a number of different races this year: 5K, 10K, Power Runs a 1 Mile Run/Walk and a Kids Pond Run.  Race Day is Saturday May 3rd.  Registration is open.  More info can be found here.

Kennett Bloom Plant Sale

Help Kennett bloom while filing your own garden with beauty!  The annual Kennett Beautification Committee Plant Sale will be taking place on Saturday May 3 (8am to 4pm) and Sunday May 4 (10am to 3pm) at Pratt's Greenhouse: 643 Hillendale Road, Avondale.  A portion of the proceeds go directly back to filling planters around town with seasonal flowers for all to enjoy.

The Chester County Department of Veterans Affairs, in collaboration with the Chester County Veterans Advisory Council, is excited to announce the upcoming Veterans Resource Fair. This event is designed to support our veterans and their families by providing valuable resources and information. Attendees can look forward to a day filled with delicious food, engaging entertainment, and, most importantly, access to representatives from a wide range of veteran service programs. We warmly invite all veterans and their families to join us for this enriching event, where you can connect with service providers and fellow veterans in your community.
