KT March Committee Meeting Schedule



Trails and Sidewalks Committee: Cancelled

The Kennett Township Trails & Sidewalks Committee meeting has been Cancelled for Wednesday, March 5th.  There will not be a meeting this month and all business will be deferred to next month's meeting which is scheduled for Wednesday, April 2nd at 1:00PM in the Public Meeting Room.  



Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will hold a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, March 5th at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room.  Topics include the bimonthly bill voucher, reviewing fuel bids from CCIU, and an electricity contract renewal. The Board will also consider adoption of Ordinance 309: Increasing Supervisor Salaries. This Ordinance would increase future Supervisors' Salaries from $2,500/year to $4,190/year. If passed, Ordinance 309 would not take effect until January 2026 and would only increase future Supervisors' salaries. The Zoom link can be accessed on the agenda.  


Historical Commission 

The Kennett Township Historical Commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Thursday, March 6th at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room.  The Zoom link can be accessed on the agenda.



Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) Program:

Kennett Township residents can find information for 2025’s HHW events from the home page of CCSWA’s website www.chestercountyswa.org/.   The Chester County schedule, the regional schedule, a list of acceptable materials, the registration links (for first two events so far), and a PowerPoint can be found here.

NEWS FROM THE COMMUNITY 

WhamLAB: The Wet Trial

THE WET TRIAL

Researchers at Temple University are looking for families who drink water from a private well for a paid study. They are interested in keeping children safe from illnesses that can be spread by drinking water from private wells. Families will receive a free whole-home UV water treatment system (value of device + installation = $1,000).  Families can participate at home.  To be part of this NIH-funded study, families must have a child three years old or younger and live in select Pennsylvania or New Jersey counties.  For more information, visit their website www.wettrial.org, or call them at (215) 204-5124, or email them at wettrial@temple.edu

Green Infrastructure and Sustainable Landscaping in our Watershed

Join CWMP for an engaging webinar where they’ll dive into important environmental topics, including:

  • Why watersheds matter
  • Green infrastructure- common goals and practices
  • Why do BMPs fail? (focus on bioretention and basin retrofits)
  • Impact of road salts on green infrastructure and local waterways
  • Introduction to maintenance of native plantings and green infrastructure.

The course will be taught by CBLP instructors and staff!
