BOS Reorg Metting 1/6/25 at 7:00

Board of Supervisors Reorganization Meeting

The Meeting will be held tonight, Monday January 6th at 7:00pm. This is a hybrid meeting that you can attend in person at the Township building or via Zoom. The Zoom link can be accessed via the agenda.  

The Reorganization meeting includes the election of the Chair and Vice Chair, appointment of Township consultants for 2025, setting the fee schedule, making committee appointments, setting the public meeting schedule and holidays for 2025, and more. 

Note: The Second Class Township Code requires that we meet on the first Monday of the year for a Reorganization Meeting. 


Kennett Township Historical Commission Meeting

The Kennett Township Historical Commission will hold a meeting on Thursday, January 9th at 7:00pm in the Public Meeting Room. This is a hybrid meeting that you can attend in person at the Township building or via Zoom. The Zoom link can be accessed via the agenda.

Kennett Township Building Code Appeals Board 

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors is currently seeking applicants who are interested in serving on the Building Code Appeals Board.  The Township intends to hold interviews with interested volunteers with a panel.  Anyone interested is asked to fill out a Volunteer Form which can be accessed here and send an optional resume to kennett.twp@kennett.pa.us.  


Drought Watch Continues

Pennsylvania’s Drought Task Force has announced that, as of November 1st, Chester County is under a Drought Watch. For more details on the drought declaration, visit PADEP’s Drought Information page.

Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

With the holidays upon, household waste increases about 25% this time of year.  Click Here to check out some ideas on how you can "Watch Your Waste- Holiday Edition". 

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.

If you encounter a pothole or concern on a state route, please use PennDOT's Customer Care Center to report it. Visit: https://customercare.penndot.pa.gov/. Please be as specific as possible when reporting locations. The report accepts photos and will ask for detailed information about the location of the pothole or maintenance concern.

If you see a pothole on a Kennett Township road please email questions@kennett.pa.us with specific location details and include photos if they are available.

Winter Programs at Kennett Library

Check out the many class offerings at the Kennett Library. This week features a number of educational and fun classes like the "Paws for Kids." Additional information and can be found by clicking on the library logo.

The Kennett Creamery

Winter Park at the Creamery, a family-friendly ice rink that features Glice!

The Glice-Skating Rink will be open to the general public until February 16th, 2025. Winter hours for public skating: Saturdays 12:30-6:00 & Sundays 12:00-4:00. To reserve your tickets click here!

Calling all High School Juniors & Seniors: Scholarship Application 

Four $1,500 scholarships are available to high school juniors and seniors: two Local Government Achievement  scholarships and two Academic Achievement scholarships. The deadline to apply is January 31, 2025.  Additional information can be found on the PSATS website.
