Kennett Township Public Works Updates

The Township Public Works Department completed a much anticipated...much requested trail project connecting residents of Kennett Township to Anson Nixon Park as well as Kennett Square Borough.

The trail was only 500 feet long but was being used by residents the day the rough grading was completed.  Many residents stopped by to share their appreciation for the much need connection.

Paved Trail

The Public Works team paved the entrance into Barkingfield Park.

Paving the entrance provides a stabilized and attractive entrance to a popular park and also reduces maintenance required to clean the gravel and grit that washes down during rain events.

Additionally, paving highly erosive gravel surfaces helps to improve the quality of stormwater runoff by preventing the silts from being carried to the receiving waters.
