Happy November!  We have a busy month ahead of us.  Check out the monthly meetings below.  Please note some have been cancelled.  The 2025 budget is wrapping up, this Wednesday, November 6th will be the final review and approval to advertise the 2025 budget.  If you missed any of the budget meetings, you can catch up! Administrative Offices- CLOSED

The Kennett Township Administrative Offices will be CLOSED on Tuesday, November 5th due to Election Day being held at the building.  We will open on Wednesday, November 6th at 8:00AM.  The office will also be CLOSED on Monday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day.  We will open on Tuesday, November 12th at 8:00AM.

Kennett Township Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will host a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, November 6th at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room.  Topics to be covered are advertising the 2025 Budget, Ordinance 308: Zoning Code Amendment, KACS and The Pines/Fussell House Grant.  Click Here to access the agenda. Kennett Township Trails & Sidewalks Meeting - CANCELLED 

The Kennett Township Trails & Sidewalks Committee monthly meeting that was scheduled for Wednesday, November 6th at 1:00PM has been CANCELLED.  The next meeting will be on Wednesday, December 4th at 1:00PM.


Kennett Township Historical Commission Meeting 

The Kennett Township Historical Commission will hold a hybrid meeting on Thursday, November 7th at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room.  Click Here to access the agenda and the Zoom link.

Chester County Burn Ban 

The Chester County Commissioners declared a 30-day ban on open burning for all residents and businesses in Chester County, which took effect on Sunday, October 27, 2024.  Additional details can be found here. 

Chester County Commissioners: Draft Master Trails Plan

The Chester County Planning Commission invites the public to review and comment on a draft version of the Chester County Trails Master Plan; which establishes a countywide vision for an interconnected, multi-use trail network.  The plan will set a framework for future trail development by creating trail network connections, providing more equitable trail access, and filling critical gaps in the network.  The deadline for public comment is Wednesday, November 6th.   


Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  

With the holidays upon, household waste increases about 25% this time of year.  Click Here to check out some ideas on how you can "Watch Your Waste- Holiday Edition". 

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.



PECO Logo

PECO Reliability & Resiliency Plan 

PECO will be upgrading and installing new equipment to enhance the local electric distribution system in Kennett & East Marlborough Township.  Constructions is expected to start in early October along W. Johnathan Court, E. Johnathan Court, East Thomas Court, West Thomas Court, South Orchard Avenue and Orchard Avenue.  Work will occur from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.  There will be approximately 2950 feet of underground cable and conduit will be replaced.  The letter and map can be viewed on the Township website by clicking Here.

Annual Veterans Recognition Breakfast with Rep. Christina Sappey 

November 8th from 9:00AM to 11:00AM  at the Kennett Square VFW Post 5467.  Additional information can be found Here.

Well Water Trial 

Researchers at Temple University are looking for families who drink water from a private well for a paid study. They are interested in keeping children safe from illnesses that can be spread by drinking water from private wells. Families will receive a free whole-home UV water treatment system (value of device + installation = $1,000). Families can participate from home. To be part of this NIH-funded study, families must have a child three years old or younger and live in select Pennsylvania or New Jersey counties.
