The Kennett Township Administrative offices will be closed on Monday, September 2nd in observance of Labor Day.  The offices will reopen on Tuesday, September 3rd at 8:00AM.  Have a safe holiday!

Welcome to the month of September!  The month where the air gets a little cooler (hopefully), Back-to-School is underway, Fall is around the corner and we kick off our 2025 budget presentations, starting as early as September 18th!

Kennett Township Board of Supervisors Meeting

Township Offices: Friday's By Appointment Only 

Kennett Township offices will be open by appointment only on Friday's.  Our staff will still be available by phone (610-388-1300) and email on Fridays but in person business is by appointment only.  Please call the office at 610-388-1300 if you wish to schedule an appointment.  Our regular walk in hours of 8:00AM to 4:30PM will remain in effect Monday-Thursday.

KFERC Special Meeting

KFERC SPECIAL MEETING 

The Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission (KFERC) will hold a Special Meeting on Tuesday, September 3rd at 5pm at the Kennett township Public Meeting Room.  The agenda and supporting documents can be found here. 
Culvert Wok

Kennett Township Public Works Updates  

PennDOT is planning on closing Old Kennett Pike at Nine Gates Road on Thursday, September 5th to replace a culvert under the road.

A signed detour will be set up by PennDOT.

Although motorists coming from Nine Gates Road will be accommodated, it would be best to seek an alternate route during the work.
Recycling

Recycling Reminder

The Recycling Drop Off Center is for residents of Kennett Township ONLY.  Proof of residency may be required.  The Recycling Drop Off Center on Bayard Road takes plastic containers No's 1, 2, 4, 5 and 7. All recycling is now commingled or "Single Stream," which means that all recycling, with the exception of shredded paper, can be collected in a single collection box. Aluminum, Metal Food Containers, Glass, Plastic Bottles, and Paper Products can be recycled at the Kennett Township Recycling Center.

Location: The Kennett Township Recycling Center is located at the Township Maintenance Garage, 557 Bayard Road, between Rosedale and Hillendale Roads.

Hours: The recycling and yard waste center is open dawn to dusk Monday through Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to dusk.


39th Annual Mushroom Festival 

Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 6pm and Sunday September 8th from 9am to 4pm.  Additional Information can be found Here.  

BE AWARE: Fraudulent EPA Notice of Violation Letters 

Please keep an eye out for fraudulent EPA Notice letters.  Businesses are receiving falsified Notice of Violations and it's possible that municipalities may begin to receive these as well.  For more information and to see a sample of a fraudulent letter, Click Here.

Free Shredding & E-Recycling Event 

Join Senator Carolyn Comitta and Representative Christina Sappey for a free shredding and e-recycling event on Saturday, September 7th from 10am to 1pm.  Additional information can be found Here.

Unionville Community Fair - Centennial Celebration 

Mark your calendars for this year's 100th Anniversary of the Unionville Community Fair;  October 4th through 6th.  Check their website and Facebook page for additional details.
