Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission Special Meeting

The Kennett Fire & EMS Regional Commission (KFERC) will hold an in person Special Meeting on Thursday, August 31st at 12:00PM (noon) at the Pocopson Township Building located at 664 South Wawaset Road, West Chester to continue the discussion on the 2024 budget.

Administrative Office Closed

The Kennett Township Administrative Office will be closed on Monday, September 4th in honor of Labor Day. We will reopen on Tuesday, September 5th at 8:00AM.

Kennett Square Borough Utility Improvement

PennDOT announced that Kennett Square Borough will be performing utility improvements on Wednesday, August 30, and Thursday, August 31, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 82 (South Street) will be closed at the intersection with Walnut Street. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Birch Street, Broad Street, Route 82 (South Street), Taylor Street, Chestnut Street, and Hornblende Avenue.

September's Third Thursday on State Street

The next Third Thursday on State Street will be Thursday, September 21, 2023 from, 5:30PM to 9:00PM. Third Thursdays bring the community together and support restaurants and small businesses on State Street. State Street is closed from Broad to Center Streets from 5:00PM to 10:00PM every third Thursday from May to October. To ensure an outdoor table, please make a reservation. Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority

The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority is hosting public engagement activities to support the development of the Commonwealth’s Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) and Digital Equity (DE) program plans. As part of this initiative, a community survey has been crafted to help assess connectivity and digital access, as well as identify barriers. Residents are encouraged to take the community survey which can be found here.

Lawn to Meadow Workshop

Lawn to meadow conversions are gaining strong interest for their benefits in reducing storm water run-off and providing wildlife habitat for birds, butterflies and pollinators. This is a repeat of the workshop offered last fall that filled quickly, so register early.
