KFERC Meeting

The Kennett Fire EMS Regional Commission will hold a meeting on Tuesday, August 8, 2023, at 5:00PM at the Pennsbury Township Building located at 702 Baltimore Pike, Chadds Ford. Board of Supervisors Meeting

The Kennett Township Board of Supervisors will hold a hybrid meeting on Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 7:00PM in the Public Meeting Room. The Zoom link can be found on the agenda (once available) which can be accessed on the Township website.

National Night Out

ICYMI (In case you missed it.) National Night Out was last Tuesday, August 1st and it was a great success! We hope the Kennett Area communities enjoyed spending time with all of our local first responders. Thank you to the Kennett Township Police Department and the Kennett Square Police Department for teaming up with local vendors and made this a wonderful event possible. Next year National Night Out will be on Tuesday, August 6, 2024! We hope you can make it out!

Red Clay Park Groundbreaking - August 9, 2023

On Wednesday, August 9th from 5:00PM to 6:30PM there will be a groundbreaking event of the Red Clay Park Demonstration Project. Come out to 500 East Cypress Street, Kennett Square for this monumental event and afterwards join everyone at Anson B. Nixon Park for their Free Summer Concert Series. Additional Info below.

Kennett Square Borough Utility Improvement

PennDOT announce on Thursday July 27th that Kennett Square Borough will be performing utility improvements on Route 82 (South Street) on Wednesday, August 16th and Thursday, August 17th from 7:00PM to 7:00 AM the following morning. Route 82 (South Street) will be closed at the intersection with Route 82 (Union Street). During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Cypress Street, Broad Street, Mulberry Street, Center Street, Route 82 (South Street), Lafayette Street, and Scarlett Avenue. The closure will also happen on Wednesday, August 30, and Thursday, August 31, from 6:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Route 82 (South Street) will be closed at the intersection with Walnut Street. During the closure, motorists will be directed to use Birch Street, Broad Street, Route 82 (South Street), Taylor Street, Chestnut Street, and Hornblende Avenue.

Third Thursdays on State Street

The next Third Thursday on State Street will be August 17, 2023 from, 5:30PM to 9:00PM. Third Thursdays bring the community together and support restaurants and small businesses on State Street. State Street is closed from Broad to Center Streets from 5:00PM to 10:00PM every third Thursday from May to October. To ensure an outdoor table, please make a reservation. Household Hazardous Waste Event

There will be a Household Hazardous Waste Event on Saturday, August 26th at the Oxford School District Administrative Building: 125 Bell Tower Lane, Oxford. Check the Township Calendar for additional details. Registration is required: Click Here!

Kennett Library & Resource Center Grand Opening

The celebration will begin at 1:00PM on Sunday, August 27th with a ceremonial book pass down State Street, followed by a land acknowledgment by the Lenape Nation of Pennsylvania, brief remarks by local dignitaries, and a ribbon cutting.

Community members are encouraged to participate in the book pass (more details to come on that soon). The day will be filled with activities for the whole family. Explore the maker spaces, preview the upcoming programs, and enjoy face painting, food trucks, and more.

Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority

The Pennsylvania Broadband Development Authority is hosting public engagement activities to support the development of the Commonwealth’s Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) and Digital Equity (DE) program plans. As part of this initiative, a community survey has been crafted to help assess connectivity and digital access, as well as identify barriers. Residents are encouraged to take the community survey which can be found here.

Mark your calendars for the 38th Annual Mushroom Festival. Starting on Saturday, September 9th at 10:00AM through September 10th at 4:00PM. Kennett Brewfest - October 7th

This year marks the 26th Annual Kennett Brewfest, being held on Saturday, October 7th—the epic celebration of community, friendship, and all things craft beer. Tickets went on sale Friday, July 21st! Unionville Community Fair
