Road Work Ahead

Tree Clearing by PennDOT 

A Friendly Reminder that The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced Tree Clearing  & Utility Excavation is planned on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in Kennett and East Marlborough Townships.

Motorists are advised of the following travel restriction:

• Monday, May 1, through Friday, May 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane closures are scheduled on U.S. 1 (Baltimore Pike) in both directions between Schoolhouse Road and Greenwood Road.  All scheduled activities are weather dependent.

KACS- Housing Initiative  

Kennett Township would like to congratulate KACS on their new Housing Initiative.  "KACS is poised to become a developer of affordable housing in Southern Chester County by gaining the Community Housing Development Organization (CHDO) designation.  This designation allows KACS to economically invest in residential properties in the service area that will become permanent, affordable rentals." Kennett Area Park Authority

Welcome Mark Volpe - KAPA

The Kennett Area Park Authority (KAPA) is pleased to announce that Mark Volpe has started working full-time in Anson B. Nixon Park as the new Facilities Manager.  Mark has a background in horticulture and parks and recreation that includes event management, greenhouse management, soil science, landscape design, and more. Please join us in welcoming Mark to KAPA and the Park.

Broadband

Chester County Broadband Survey 

Chester County Government has created a one-minute crucial survey that will identify locations in the county where internet service is either non-existent or extremely limited.

Responses to this survey will provide greater detail on where the broadband shortfalls are within areas of Chester County, giving a clearer picture of the true impact on residents and businesses.

Survey results will assist organizations, internet service providers and municipalities in drafting and submitting the most complete and accurate application for State and Federal broadband expansion dollars.  TAKE THE SURVEY 

2023 Mosquito Season

A message from the Chester County Health Department regarding 2023 Mosquito Season.  

The Chester County Health Department (CCHD) will once again be monitoring mosquito populations across Chester County for presence of West Nile Virus (WNV) starting May 1st. CCHD utilizes a variety of sampling methods to monitor mosquito populations and WNV activity. This includes the use of traps designed to capture adult mosquitoes, as well as the collection of larval mosquito samples from standing or stagnant water sources.
