Kennett Township

Dear Township Residents and Business Owners,

If you are like me, you may be finding it hard to believe the attacks on the World Trade Center, the U.S. Pentagon, and the thwarted plans that tragically (and heroically) ended in a field in Shanksville, PA all took place twenty years ago today. This sobering reminder comes on the heels of a very tumultuous couple of years for our great country that saw Americans divided over many issues and a global pandemic.

It is my hope that as we collectively pause to remember the events of 9/11 as well as the 2,977 people who lost their lives, that we also remember the amazing surge of heroism and unity that followed. First responders were thrust into the spotlight, and many rushed to join their ranks to help with 412 making the ultimate sacrifice. Perfect strangers pitched in to do whatever they could to help those in that time of need. And, I believe, each of us hugged our loved ones a little tighter and appreciated what we have and who we are as a country.

Please join me in remembering the loss the world experienced that day as well as the strength we exhibited to persevere.
