Accounting Assistant, Finance Department
Seeking part-time and full-time applicants
Kennett Township is seeking an Accounting Assistant to join our Finance & HR team. The Accounting Assistant will assist with a variety of accounting, finance and administrative tasks. This person will be responsible for bank reconciliation and accounts receivable/revenue processes. The Accounting Assistant will also be heavily cross-trained to assist with peaks in workload, back-up other team members and assist with special projects. This may include HR tasks, sewer billing, escrow account processes, accounts payable (A/P) and backing up the Township receptionist/permit coordinator. The Accounting Assistant will also provide administrative support to the Finance & HR Director and perform other tasks as assigned.
We are considering applications for both part-time and full-time. A part-time position would be for an average of 20 hours per week at our offices. A full-time position would be for 40 hours per week. Due to COVID-19, our team is currently working a hybrid schedule which includes every Tuesday and Wednesday in the office and a third day to be scheduled between the Finance/HR Director and each team member. Currently, a full-time position would provide for the option to work remotely up to two days per week. However, depending on the success of the hybrid approach and the progression of COVID, this remote situation is not guaranteed to continue indefinitely. We may be required to return to in office on a full-time basis.
