Flash Flood Warning/Watch

Dear Kennett Township Residents and Business Owners,
 
We here at Kennett Township have been keeping an eye on the effects of Tropical Storm Fay all day. This morning we posted to our Facebook page (@kennetttwp) about the Flash Flood Watch that is in effect until 8:00 p.m. tonight.
 
There is now a Flash Flood Warning in effect until 5:00 p.m. tonight. Per the National Weather Service, the impacts from this heavy rain could include flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other drainage and low-lying areas.
 
For those of you who live along the Red Clay Creek, you may want to monitor the water levels as the rain continues. For everyone, please use caution when going out and always follow the advice of “turn around...don`t drown” when encountering flooded roads.
