Land Stewardship Volunteer Opportunities

Ecological Landscaping Community Group: Purpose

•Facilitate ecologically beneficial land stewardship across the Township.

-Preserve KT beauty and cultural heritage

-Enhance water quality and quantity

­ •Learn from each other and outside speakers about land stewardship and ecological landscaping.

•Help with demonstration projects such as Barkingfield Park pilot. 

•Resource group to help spread land stewardship advice and best practices across Kennett area.

Volunteer Opportunities

-Planting of flowering plants to support pollinators including butterflies, native bees, and hummingbirds.

-Removal of invasive plants to make way for replacement with native plants that function as a beneficial part of our local ecosystem. 

-Make informational signage for display at Barkingfield Park to explain ecological information and help visitors to identify beneficial plants, pollinators, etc. 

-Help design and run a public perceptions survey on community opinions of ecological landscape design.
