Chief's Corner

Chief's MessageChief Matthew Gordon

On behalf of the Kennett Township Police Department, I welcome you to our website and thank you for taking the time to learn more about our agency. It is an honor to serve as Chief of Police and to lead a team of officers who demonstrate professionalism, compassion, and integrity in their service to the community.

Our mission is to provide fair and impartial law enforcement services to all who live in, work in, or visit Kennett Township. We are dedicated to preserving the safety, trust, and quality of life that make this community such a special place to call home. We believe that effective policing is built upon strong partnerships — with our residents, businesses, and schools — and that lasting public safety comes from collaboration, communication, and accountability.

I’m proud to report that as of June 2025, we achieved accreditation through the Pennsylvania Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (PLEAC), administered by the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association. This accomplishment reflects our ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of professionalism, ethics, and service.

We are proud to serve this community and remain steadfast in our pledge to uphold the principles of honesty, compassion, accountability, and respect. Together, we will continue to make Kennett Township a safe and thriving place for all.

Respectfully,
Matthew J. Gordon
Chief of Police
