ORDINANCE NO. 125

 

AN ORDINANCE OF KENNETT TOWNSHIP AMENDING ORDINANCE 113, ADOPTED AUGUST 18, 1997, AS AMENDED BY ORDINANCE NO. 114, ADOPTED NOVEMBER 24, 1997, BY CLARIFYING THE TERMS OF THE ORDINANCE RELATING TO INCOME EARNED ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1, 1998 BY NONRESIDENTS EMPLOYED IN KENNETT TOWNSHIP.

 

Pursuant to the authority of the Local Tax Enabling Act (Act of December 31, 1996 P.L. 1257; 53 P.S. §6901, et seq. as amended), the Kennett Township Board of Supervisors ordains:

 

Section 1.  Section II, Imposition of Tax, of Ordinance 113, adopted August 18, 1997, as amended by Ordinance No. 114, adopted November 24, 1997, is further amended so that paragraph B reads in its entirety as follows:

 

B.     An earned income tax, for general revenue purposes, in the amount of one percent (1%) is hereby imposed on the following:

 

1.      Earned income earned on or after January 1, 1998, by residents of Kennett Township;

 

  1. Earned income earned on or after January 1, 1998, by nonresidents employed in Kennett Township; and

 

  1. Net profits earned on or after January 1, 1998, in Kennett Township.

 

Section 2.  In all other respects, the Board of Supervisors ratifies and confirms the terms of Ordinance 113, as amended by Ordinance No. 114.
