Appointed by the Supervisors, the Historical Commission meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Committee Room of the Township Building to collect, study and disseminate the history of the township.

The Kennett Township Historical Commision has been presented with an achievement award by the Chester County Historical Preservation Network for its efforts in completing the 2011 Historical Resource Atlas Project.

hamorton historic district

Secured the listing of the Hamorton Historic District in the National Register of Historic Places.

A survey of historic sites and buildings in the township was completed in 2009, in an effort to identify and protect locations of historic significance.
