board of supervisors
The three-person Board of Supervisors are elected for staggered, six-year terms.
The board is empowered to set policy, to enact legislation (ordinances),
and to levy taxes. It is also the executive body's responsibility to
administer the policy, codes, and taxes. The Supervisors set annual budgets and
control the expenditure of funds. The Supervisors also make appointments to
various boards and committees, including professional advisors, which provide
legal and technical counsel. The Supervisors are restricted in their authority
by the Second Class Township Code, and various tax enabling acts.
The Supervisors conduct Township business at monthly meetings at the
Kennett Township building which the public
is encouraged to attend.
